Upon acknowledging how much contempt the religion you have been raised in has for you, there are usually two ways one handles it: 1) Denial of one’s homosexuality and forcing oneself with brutalizing faith and the desperate desire for a/the higher power to change one’s sexuality so one can live a “normal” heterosexual life, or 2) a initial dismissal of the religion and then a deep-seated ambivalence for though the religion may disappoint, spiritual matters are often left in the balance with very little impetus to resolve them.
